Which side of the invoice are you on?

InvoiceCheck reads an invoice and tells you what is wrong with it before somebody else does — the GST portal, a marketplace, or a customer who has stopped paying. Two situations, two sets of tools.

You send invoices

Catch it before the portal does

Wrong tax head, a short HSN code, arithmetic that does not reconcile — the portal rejects the whole return and you find out at filing time. This finds them first, and every flag cites the section it comes from.

What you need

One invoice in front of you, or a CSV export from Tally, Zoho, Busy or the GSTR-1 offline tool.

Check a batch — free
You receive them

Check what arrives, chase what does not

A supplier's mistake costs you the input tax credit, and a customer who pays late owes you statutory interest whether they know it or not. Both are things you can check in under a minute.

What you need

The invoice you were given, or the date and amount of one that has not been paid.

Work out what you are owed

Everything above runs free and without an account. ₹99 unlocks the fixes on a single invoice check — the corrected values and how to put each one right.

What an Invoice Error Costs

A wrong tax head is never just a typo

One incorrect field holds up a settlement, costs your buyer their input tax credit, and compounds into a late-filing fee. Here is the exposure a single bad invoice carries.

Risk Mitigation

Section 16

Input Tax Credit Denial

Impact: Double Taxation

If your supplier's GSTIN is invalid or returns are not filed, the buyer loses Input Tax Credit. This means you pay tax twice — once to your supplier, and again to the government.

Section 47

Late Filing Penalty

Impact: ₹1,500+ / month

GSTR-1 filed late attracts ₹50/day (₹20/day for NIL returns). A single month's delay on an incorrect invoice can cost thousands in compounding penalties.

Operations

Marketplace Payment Holds

Impact: Blocked Working Capital

Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho automatically reject invoices with wrong tax types (IGST vs CGST/SGST), invalid HSN codes, or calculation mismatches — holding your payments for weeks.

Section 65

GST Audit Notice

Impact: Intensive Scrutiny

Businesses with turnover above ₹5 crore face mandatory GST audit. Repeated invoice errors create a paper trail of non-compliance that auditors flag immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Free checks are processed in memory and never written to our database — nothing about that invoice is kept. If you pay for a full report, we do store the invoice details, because that is what lets you re-open, download and email the report afterwards. We never sell your data or use it to train AI models, and you can ask us to delete a stored check at any time. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is kept and for how long.
No, and it is not meant to. We run 16 mechanical checks on the invoice itself — GSTIN structure, tax head against place of supply, HSN, the arithmetic, invoice numbering and dates. That is the tedious layer, and it is the layer that gets returns rejected on upload. Judgement calls, classification, notices and the return itself are your CA's work. Plenty of practices use this on their own client batches for exactly that reason — it clears the mechanical errors before the professional review starts.
We use highly redundant caching and alternate API gateways. If the primary portal is completely inaccessible, we still run 10 offline heuristic checks (math, structural rules) and flag the portal-dependent checks for later review.
Not directly yet. We are building our API to plug directly into major ERPs. For now, you can instantly check any generated invoice PDF before you upload it to your buyer marketplace.
